The shoe was designed by patient Brody Miller at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, who suffers from brain malformation. A far cry from the original Air More Uptempo design worn by Scottie Pippen, the Doernbecher edition features a bright blue leather upper with “BPM” replacing the original “AIR” text that doubles to stand for Brody’s initials and “beats per minute”.
